The sun shone. The crowd cheered. The spades dug through the turf. The building of the Eternal Wall began.
With the
BBC, ITV, GB News and a number of newspapers in attendance, and with the
delightful Gemma Hunt hosting proceedings, this was the day when a dream became
reality.
It’s been a
long journey for founder Richard Gamble. What started as a dream twenty-one
years ago has finally reached the bricks and mortar of a build. One million
bricks, a monument to answered prayer. Every brick will represent a prayer, and
with the wonders of technology, each one will tell the visitor a story of Jesus
answering.
The finding
of the site to build is a part of that miracle. It started with toothpaste. Sue
Bigby, one of the Eternal Wall team, was cleaning her teeth and praying.
Praying for God to direct to the land that they needed to find. As the
toothpaste was applied, God spoke. A word. Sue typed the word into Google maps.
Up came a dental practice. Appropriate to her situation! Next to the dental
practice was a motorway. Next to that, some empty land. That’s where the build
began yesterday.
From
toothpaste to turf, it’s just the start!
